Bemis Bibliography
Introduction
Several generations of bibliographies for Edwin A. Bemis Public Library have been produced by Columbine since the first was done in the 1980s. Each one has covered genealogical publications in various forms that included books, manuscripts, microfilm and other media.
Since the last major effort in 1995, the library has acquired many additional documents, many as a result of donations by Columbine. This project further expands the list of holdings by adding historical documents to the already long list of genealogical items on the shelves.
The update started in 2008 has been completed. The project is ongoing. As new publications become available, they will be added. Currently items relevant to genealogical and historical research are included. There are books from the Reference section, from Circulation, from the Vertical files (manuscript and un-cataloged documents) and microfilm & microfiche.
This is a fine resource that points researchers to the many valuable resources at the library. There are over 60 categories, over 50 countries and over 40 nationalities that can be searched that show publications with relevance to the search selections made.
